How it Works
We deliver veg boxes every Thursday afternoon (generally between 3:00 and 7:00pm) to St Agnes, Porthtowan, Perranporth, Mount Hawke, Mithian and the surrounding villages.
Not quite in the zone? No worries. You can pick up your order at one of our nearby collection points, easy and convenient.

Start by choosing a box
We offer two different boxes – a veg box and a fruit and veg box. To make an order with us, you have to choose one of these two boxes first.

What's in you box?
For the veg: each week is a mix of leafy greens, salad and root veg, with 7-8 items in the box. Staple root veg (potatoes, onions, carrots) tend to be in the boxes 2 weeks in every 3. Our own-grown salad leaves (one of our specialities) tend to be in most weeks. And the rest will be a mix of what’s in season. As much as possible is grown by us in Goonown, but we also buy in from other organic growers to ensure a full range of produce.

For the fruit: it’s a mix of 3-4 different types of seasonal fruit -predominantly a mix of regular staples like apples, bananas, oranges, kiwis or clementines but also often including some more unusual fruit like persimmons, loquats and blood oranges. At Goonown we grow strawberries and rhubarb and are bringing on a range of other soft fruit like blueberries, gooseberries, jostaberries and currants. All our fruit & veg is certified organic.

Choose your frequency
You can subscribe either weekly or fortnightly – it all depends on how much veg you eat! If you would like veg every week but fruit every other week, then you can choose a veg box and then add a fruit bag as a fortnightly optional extra.
Add on optional extras
We have a large range of extra items you can add to your deliveries in order to make your box more bespoke for you. Here is a video guide to ordering and adding on extras:
(Note the video guide is from a demo site, so the products will be different. )

The weekly routine
Once you are subscribed, there is a regular pattern to the week:
● We publish forthcoming box contents every Tuesday evening – 9 days ahead of Thursday delivery day - so that you can plan your shopping
● The final deadline for any adjustments (e.g., pausing your box or adding optional extras) to your order is midday every Monday - 3 days ahead of Thursday delivery day
● We try not to pester you all with lots of messages so we recommend setting your own reminder, say, on a Sunday evening to make any adjustments for the week ahead
● On Thursday delivery days, we use a Goonown Growers Whatsapp group to inform you of any delays, changes or issues with the delivery (as well as upcoming events). When you first subscribe we will automatically add you to our Whatsapp group, but you can, of course leave the group whenever you want
● You also get a paper newsletter with every delivery. This is the best way to stay in touch with what is happening on the farm, and also features recipes
Stuck for ideas?
If you don't know what to do with, say, a kohl rabi or if you're bored of all your normal cauliflower recipes, we really recommend sending a message to the WhatsApp group. It's a great place to share and learn new recipe ideas.
And finally... come and visit or get involved!
We are a community market garden – a not-for-profit community interest company, certified organic, promoting nature and biodiversity and looking to involve our community as much as possible, in particular supporting people with mental and physical health conditions.
We run an open farm, so please come and visit! (Just please shut the gates after you to keep the rabbits out! And if driving please park on Goonown and walk the last 200 yards down Goonown Lane as access is very tight and sensitive with neighbours.) You are very welcome to come and walk around and see where your veg is grown. Look out for events at the farm too - open days, feasts, workshops, talks, courses.
And if you fancy, come and get stuck in with the veg growing. We host volunteer sessions every Friday 10:30am - 3:00pm (drop in for as little or as much of that time as you want), free lunch and tools provided.
